RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Reverend Dr. Juel Pate Borders-Benson; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Reverend Dr. Juel Pate Borders-Benson has long been recognized by the citizens
of this state for her leadership in the field of medicine, her compassionate
treatment of her patients, and her deep concern for the well-being of others;
and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Borders-Benson has diligently and conscientiously dedicated her time,
talents, and energy to providing quality and thoughtful care to patients in the
area of obstetrics and gynecology; and
WHEREAS,
her significant organizational and leadership talents, her remarkable patience
and diplomacy, her keen sense of vision, and her sensitivity to the needs of
others have earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and
associates; and
WHEREAS,
a talented physician, Dr. Borders-Benson has been inducted into Atlanta's 100
Black Women of Influence by the Atlanta Business League for her leading role in
the medical industry and her outstanding accomplishments on behalf of patients;
and
WHEREAS,
inductees in the Hall of Fame for the 100 Black Women of Influence are
recognized for their demonstrated commitment to the citizens of Metro Atlanta
through significant civic involvement and participation in community affairs and
organizations; and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Borders-Benson joins a prestigious list of women in the Hall of Fame,
including Billye S. Aaron, Juanita Abernathy, Henrietta Antoinin, Juanita Powell
Baranco, Alice White Bussey, Dr. Shirley Bradley-Carmack, Xemona Clayton, Dr.
Johnnetta Cole, Myrtle R. Davis, Hattie Dorsey, Evern Cooper Epps, Christine
King Farris, the Honorable Shirley Franklin, Renee Lewis Glover, Dr. Beverly L.
Hall, Beverly Harvard, Judge Glenda Hatchett, the Honorable Patsy Jo Hilliard,
Stephanie Hughley, Dr. Brenda Watts Jones, Ingrid Saunders Jones, Monica
Kaufman, Dr. Barbara King, Coretta Scott King, Evelyn Lowery, Judge Thelma Wyatt
Cummings Moore, Dorothy Norwood, Vicki R. Palmer, Sheryl Riley-Gripper, the
Honorable Leah Ward Sears, and Orah Belle Sherman; and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Borders-Benson's selfless service to the community of Atlanta and her many
patients is worthy of recognition.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Reverend Dr. Juel Pate Borders-Benson on her incredible career in the medical
field and congratulate her on her induction into the Atlanta's Top 100 Black
Women of Influence Hall of Fame.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Reverend Dr. Juel Pate
Borders-Benson.
