RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending the University of West Georgia Coed Cheerleading Team; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS,
as the West Georgia Coed Cheerleading Team prepared for the 2009 national
competition, many wondered if the university's program could match its
extraordinary past achievements; and
WHEREAS,
at the 2009 nationals, West Georgia not only equaled its previous successes, but
the Wolves' program exceeded all expectations by establishing itself as a
national powerhouse to be reckoned with; and
WHEREAS,
under the direction of Coaches Scott Brown and Ryan McKinnon, the coed cheer
squad maintained its reputation and place as a national dynasty by winning its
eighth consecutive UCA Division II Championship as the Wolves' squad
demonstrated considerable talent, discipline, coordination, and teamwork in the
competition finals to stand above their competitors; and
WHEREAS,
coed squad team members Brittany Margaret Barr, Chase Castellanos, Carlos Colon,
Gennal Marie Duclo, Nikki Fant, Jeremy Frederick, Michelle Jones, Michael Kirby,
Tommy Lane, Caitlin Madden, Brittany Moss, Brian Nichols, Sarah Roberts, Cody
Sellers, Alex Smith, Morgan Taylor Southerland, Bryan Tillman, and Tate
Zachmeyer displayed a level of competitive spirit that has rarely been
equaled.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
the University of West Georgia Coed Cheerleading Team on their dominating win of
the Division II Coed Cheerleading Competition.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit appropriate copies of this resolution to the University of West
Georgia Coed Cheerleading Team and their coaches.
