RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mrs. Mary Lyle; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
originally from Kansas, Mrs. Mary Lyle has called the State of Georgia her home
since 1969; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Lyle holds a bachelor's degree in sociology, a master's degree in
marketing, and has been recognized by
TowneLaker
magazine as the January 2009 Pathfinder of the Month; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Lyle served as a devoted volunteer for eight years at Northside
Hospital-Cherokee in Canton, Georgia, dedicating approximately 7,000 hours
assisting patients, staff, and hospital visitors; and
WHEREAS,
a kindhearted and magnanimous woman, Mrs. Lyle gave selflessly of her time to
make life easier for those in need of care and provide support and comfort to
their loved ones; and
WHEREAS,
during her years with the hospital, Mrs. Lyle was always quick to extend a
helping hand and a smile, whether during her time helping with the Marketing and
Community Relations Department, at the snack bar, or in the emergency
department; and
WHEREAS,
in 2006, Mrs. Lyle retired from her volunteer position with the hospital to
begin a new mission of aiding the senior citizens and staff at Cherokee Senior
Center, where she currently volunteers as the president of the Site Council;
and
WHEREAS,
this woman of great kindness and generosity lives in northeast Cherokee with her
husband, Chris, and when she is not giving to others, Mrs. Lyle enjoys
long-distance walking with her dogs, China and Chance;
and
WHEREAS, the benevolent and honorable deeds of this charitable woman serve as a shining example of volunteerism, and the State of Georgia is honored and blessed to have Mrs. Lyle as a citizen.

NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Mrs. Mary Lyle on her volunteer efforts and contributions and congratulate her
on the honorable distinction of being named
TownLaker
magazine's January 2009 Pathfinder of the Month.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Mary Lyle.
