RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Immanuel Kerr-Brown; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Immanuel Kerr-Brown has shown by the example of his academic accomplishments and
athletic achievements that the pursuit and attainment of excellence are within
the reach of the students in this state; and
WHEREAS,
a senior at Rome High School, Immanuel is a gifted student who maintains an
incredible 4.0 grade point average while competing on the school's wrestling
team; and
WHEREAS,
Immanuel knows the value of hard work, and his impeccable work ethic and drive
inspire and motivate his teammates, coaches, and opponents; and
WHEREAS,
he was one of the first state champions for the Rome High School wrestling
program as a junior, and this year he triumphed in the face of adversity
following a knee injury two weeks before the state tournament; and
WHEREAS,
instead of giving up or feeling sorry for himself, Immanuel pushed through his
pain and focused on performing to his best ability, even rescheduling his knee
surgery to follow the state championship finals; and
WHEREAS,
Immanuel has earned a well-deserved reputation as a respectful competitor who is
constantly striving to improve his game play; and
WHEREAS,
upon his graduation this spring, Immanuel plans to attend Duke University where
he hopes to study aeronautical engineering; and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia looks with great anticipation toward the future of this
bright and promising young
citizen.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend Immanuel Kerr-Brown for his superlative scholastic endeavors and amazing athletic accomplishments and extend to him their most sincere best wishes for continued success in the future.
