RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Louise Reswayne' DuBois; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Louise Reswayne' DuBois has long been recognized for her contributions to the
arts community as one of the most talented musicians this state has to offer;
and
WHEREAS,
she began playing the violin in middle school and added the double bass to her
repertoire in 2002; and
WHEREAS,
her passion for the double bass was fostered by Dr. Bo Ballew, PhD. of the
Greenville Symphony Orchestra, while she was attending the DeKalb School of the
Arts; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. DuBois joined the Stillwater Youth Sinfo-Nia of Metropolitan Atlanta under
David Robinson and the DeKalb Youth Symphony, a county-wide symphony of the
county's best and brightest stars; and
WHEREAS,
after graduation, this talented musician studied for two years at Valdosta State
University under Professor Jonathan Stokes before attending Kennesaw State
University to continue her education under the tutelage of Douglas Sommer, a 20
year bassist with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. DuBois continues to ear-train under Dr. Susan Tepping, PhD., enriching her
God given talent; and
WHEREAS,
she is a member of the National Collegiate Wind Ensemble and has been a featured
State of Georgia elite youth orchestra student and player for two consecutive
years, performing at the esteemed Carnegie Hall of New York; and
WHEREAS,
this outstanding Georgian regularly devotes her time, talents, and energy to
serving her community; and
WHEREAS, Ms. DuBois, in pursuing her dream of becoming a symphonic musician, is an inspiration to peers and all generations; and
WHEREAS, Ms. DuBois, in pursuing her dream of becoming a symphonic musician, is an inspiration to peers and all generations; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of her contributions to the arts and the State of Georgia, it is
abundantly fitting and proper for this body to honor the extraordinary
commitment and accomplishments of this outstanding individual.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Louise Reswayne' DuBois for her musical talent and achievements and extend to
her sincere best wishes for a lifetime of health and happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Louise Reswayne' DuBois.
