A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Cadet Kevin H. Bernhardt; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Cadet Kevin H. Bernhardt is in his final year at North Georgia College and State
University in Dahlonega, Georgia, attending for the last four years on a U.S.
Army ROTC Scholarship; and
WHEREAS,
a graduate of Grayson High School, Cadet Bernhardt is majoring in History and
maintains an impressive grade point average of 3.68; and
WHEREAS,
Cadet Bernhardt currently serves as Commander of Second Battalion, being
selected for this post due to his outstanding performance, leadership potential,
and academic achievement; and
WHEREAS,
during the summer of 2008, Cadet Bernhardt attended the Army ROTC National
Leader Development and Assessment Course at Fort Lewis, Washington, where he
completed the course ranked number 20 in the nation out of the 4,400 cadets in
attendance; and
WHEREAS,
this fine leader has been honored with numerous cadet, military, and scholastic
awards, some of which include being named Honor Graduate during the cadet
Non-Commissioned Officers Academy, earning the Good Conduct Ribbon for three
straight years, and being placed on the Dean's List for five semesters;
and
WHEREAS,
some of the many activities Cadet Bernhardt devotes his time to include the
Ranger Challenge team, where he has served as Squad Leader, Operations Officer,
Noncommissioned Officer in Charge, and Commander, the Scabbard and Blade
National Military Honor Society, serving as Commander, and Corps of the Cadets
Shooting Sports team, serving as Captain;
and
WHEREAS, this year, Cadet Bernhardt has also been selected as a Distinguished Military Student, an exclusive honor given to top graduating seniors; and
WHEREAS, this year, Cadet Bernhardt has also been selected as a Distinguished Military Student, an exclusive honor given to top graduating seniors; and
WHEREAS,
upon his graduation in May, 2009, Cadet Bernhardt plans to commission on active
duty in the Infantry Branch; and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia is honored to have such a motivated and hard-working
individual as one of its citizens.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that members of this body recognize
Cadet Kevin H. Bernhardt for his outstanding achievements and extend best wishes
for his future endeavors.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Cadet Kevin H. Bernhardt.
