RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Ms. Christine Powell for outstanding contributions to public
education in the State of Georgia; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Ms. Christine Powell is a highly respected educator in the Muscogee County
School System; and
WHEREAS,
the contributions and achievements of Ms. Powell have been recognized by her
selection as Teacher of the Year for Northside High School; and
WHEREAS,
nothing is more vital to the future of our state than the education of our young
people and Ms. Powell exemplifies the selfless dedication which is
characteristic of our finest educators; and
WHEREAS,
it is appropriate that this body join in expressing appreciation to Ms. Powell
for her efforts and accomplishments.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that this body hereby recognizes and
commends Ms. Christine Powell; extends its congratulations upon her selection as
Teacher of the Year; and expresses its gratitude for the great credit this
outstanding educator reflects upon her school and school system and the State of
Georgia.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Christine Powell.
