RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and honoring Cathy Plummer Hill; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Cathy Hill served as manager of Georgia Power's Metro South Region for the past
three years; and
WHEREAS,
during this time, she served on numerous community boards in Clayton County,
including the Clayton State Advisory Council, the Clayton County Campus Advisory
Council for Atlanta Technical College, Arts Clayton, and the Regional Business
Coalition; and
WHEREAS,
she also served with the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce in a number of
roles, including board member, vice chair of the Economic Development committee,
and chairman of the Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS,
throughout her tenure in Clayton County, Cathy Hill worked tirelessly to develop
and promote opportunities for women in business; and
WHEREAS,
in support of this goal, she created the Women's Legacy of United Way Tri-County
Unit with the mission to mobilize women to become powerful philanthropists
through advocacy, leadership, and philanthropy; and
WHEREAS,
she also initiated the Women in Business Council under the Chamber of Commerce;
and
WHEREAS,
Cathy Hill recognized the importance of our community's youth having strong
leadership role models; and
WHEREAS,
she was instrumental in establishing Boys and Girls Club chapters in Clayton
County; and
WHEREAS, through her work with Arts Clayton, she supported youth development and worked to enhance the quality of life in Clayton County.

NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body hereby
honor and commend Cathy Plummer Hill for her dedication and compassion for the
residents of this community.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Cathy Plummer Hill.
