RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mr. Paul Thomas "Tommy" Addis, Jr.; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Paul Thomas "Tommy" Addis, Jr., was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on November
30, 1946, a beloved son of Helen Frazier Addis and Paul T. Addis, Sr.;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Addis grew up in Forest Park and graduated from Forest Park High School;
and
WHEREAS,
one of the first in the state to obtain his plumbing license in Georgia, Mr.
Addis also holds plumbing licenses in Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, South
Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia and a Georgia HVAC license; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Addis worked at his father's plumbing business until 1980, at which time he
began his own business installing sewer lines; and in August 1989, he began
Quality Plumbing Enterprises; and
WHEREAS,
a recipient of the Contractor of the Year award in 1995, Mr. Addis has been
active with the Plumbing & Mechanical Association of Georgia for 19 years,
giving his time and financial support and serving as state president, committee
chair, and member of the board of directors; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Addis was appointed to the State Construction Licensing Board, Plumbing
Division by Governor Zell Miller and was reappointed by Governor Sonny Perdue in
2004; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Addis was united in love and marriage to his wife Joyce Davis on December
29, 1980, and they have been blessed with four children, Carole, Paula, Leslie,
and Brian, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Addis's leadership has strengthened the plumbing industry and raised the professional profile of the plumbing industry, and his many contributions and achievements are worthy of recognition.

NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Mr. Paul Thomas "Tommy" Addis, Jr., in his dedication to the plumbing industry
and congratulate him upon the occasion of his retirement from the State
Construction Industry Licensing Board.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Paul Thomas "Tommy"
Addis, Jr.
