RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mrs. Carolyn Law on the occasion of her retirement; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Carolyn Law has dedicated her services to the Georgia Department of
Corrections since 1982, her first job with the Atlanta Court Services Division
of the department being a Probation Officer I; and
WHEREAS,
even before she began her career with the Department of Corrections, Mrs. Law
served as a distinguished public servant working in the Fulton County District
Attorney's Office under District Attorney Lewis Slaton and in the Fulton County
Health System; and
WHEREAS,
during her time with the Department, Mrs. Law has been assigned to courtrooms of
several famous and esteemed Fulton County Superior Court Judges while working in
the Fulton County Courthouse, including Judge Leah Sears-Collins, Judge Cynthia
Wright, Judge Elizabeth E. Long, and the late Judge Rowland Barnes; and
WHEREAS,
she has been highly regarded by those in the judicial administration system and
by state and local government officials as a person of unquestioned integrity
and dedication to the administration of justice and sound principles of law
enforcement; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Law is an honest and dedicated public servant who strives for excellence in
all her endeavors and whose primary concern has always been the welfare and
safety of those she has been assigned to protect.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in
commending the commitment and leadership displayed by Mrs. Carolyn Law and
recognize her devotion as a public servant to the State of Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Carolyn Law.
