RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Earnell Moton II; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
a proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most
important objective of the General Assembly; and
WHEREAS,
Earnell Moton II has shown by the example of his academic accomplishments that
the pursuit and attainment of scholastic success are within the reach of the
students in this state; and
WHEREAS,
this remarkable scholar has earned distinction through his superlative
achievements at Augustine Prepatory Academy of Atlanta, where he is an
outstanding ninth grader; and
WHEREAS,
on November 19, 2009, Earnell won first place at the Georgia Junior Beta
Competition's science tournament, beating out more than 50 students to earn the
state title; and
WHEREAS,
Earnell ranks in the top five percent of his class and maintains a 4.0 grade
point average; and
WHEREAS,
this outstanding student will represent the State of Georgia during the National
Junior Beta Championship in June, which will be held in Louisville, Kentucky;
and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia looks with great anticipation toward the future of this
bright and promising young citizen.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body heartily
commend Earnell Moton II for his spectacular scholastic endeavors, congratulate
him upon his victory at the Georgia Junior Beta Competition, and express to him
their most sincere best wishes for continued academic success in the
future.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Earnell Moton II.
