RESOLUTION
Congratulating
Mrs. Willie Tebeau on the occasion of her 100th birthday; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Willie Tebeau was born on December 27, 1909, the beloved daughter of Robert
Lee "Bobby" and Gussie Lee Arnsdorf Kieffer, and this year she has the rare
distinction of celebrating her 100th birthday; and
WHEREAS,
one of eight children, Mrs. Tebeau was reared in the Kieffer Hill community,
where she walked to school each day with her lunch in a pail and enjoyed going
to Sam's Hole to swim during the hot summer months; and
WHEREAS,
a talented athlete, Mrs. Tebeau played basketball in high school and spent her
free time on Tybee Island with friends and attending Sunday school picnics;
and
WHEREAS,
she was united in love and marriage to Troy P. Tebeau on December 24, 1932, a
union which blessed them with three loving and devoted children, Lee Ellen,
John, and Jo Louisa; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Tebeau is the proud grandmother of three granddaughters, seven
great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; and
WHEREAS,
the devotion, patience, and understanding she has demonstrated have provided the
foundation and framework of success in which all of her family members have
developed and flourished; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Tebeau taught for several years before she got married and has served the
Effingham Hospital Auxiliary for over three decades, selflessly donating over
3,500 hours of her time to uplift the lives of others and serving in leadership
positions such as president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and
parliamentarian; and
WHEREAS,
a gifted seamstress, Mrs. Tebeau enjoys spending time exercising, baking, and
gardening; and
WHEREAS,
she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example she has made
of her life, she makes this world a better place in which to live, and it is
only fitting and proper that she be appropriately recognized during this very
special and memorable time of her life.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize
the 100th birthday of Mrs. Willie Tebeau and commend her on a lifetime of
service and accomplishments.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Willie Tebeau.
