Representative Mark Butler was re-elected in 2008 as State Representative for District 18. He is currently serving his fourth term in Atlanta.
A native Georgian, Rep. Butler was born and raised in Carroll County and graduated from Central of Carroll County High School. Upon graduation Mark attended Auburn University and received a degree in Public Administration. Mark has two children, Sydney (12) and Blake (24), who currently serves in the U.S. Army with the 1st Division. Mark has made West Georgia his home, living there for almost 38 years and currently works at Appraisal Associates, a family business. He is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Carrollton.
Representative Butler, a native of Carroll County, serves as the Chairman of Human Resources on the House Appropriations Committee and serves on the Health and Human Services Committee, the Governmental Affairs Committee and the Human Relations and Aging Committee. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2002.
