Rich Golick is serving his 6th term in the Georgia House of Representatives, representing the 34th State House District in Cobb County based in Smyrna. He serves as Chairman of the Judiciary Committee (Non-Civil), the Insurance Committee, the Retirement Committee and the Appropriations Committee. Previous to assuming the Chairmanship of the Judiciary Committee this year, Rich served as Governor Sonny Perdue's Senior Administration Floor Leader in the State House for five years.

Rich graduated from Emory University with a degree in Political Science and earned his law degree at Georgia State University. During law school summers, Rich served as a law clerk in the criminal division of the Justice Department in Washington, D.C. during the Administration of President George H.W. Bush, and he subsequently clerked in the criminal division of the U.S. Attorney's Office. Prior to his election, Rich served as legislative aide to the Senate Special Judiciary Committee as well as Special Counsel to the State Senate Republican Caucus. During his tenure in the State House Rich has been recognized by various groups for his legislative achievements, including the Georgia District Attorneys Association, the Georgia Association of Educators, the Georgia Hospital Association, Georgia Conservation Voters, Cure Autism Now and Georgia Watch. Georgia Watch, Georgia's premier consumer watchdog group, recognized Rich with its 2008 Legislator of the Year Award for Rich's legislative work on behalf of Georgia's consumers. WSB radio host and consumer advocate Clark Howard presented Rich with the award.

In 2010 the Georgia Chamber of Commerce presented Rich with its Legislator of the Year Award for Rich's work in combating identity fraud.

At home, Rich has coached both Smyrna Soccer and Smyrna Little League, and is coaching Upward Football this Fall. He is a Member of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, Friends of the Smyrna Library, Smyrna-Vinings Ducks Unlimited, the South Cobb Arts Alliance and Vinings Rotary Club (Honorary), and previously served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Georgia Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In the private sector, Rich works as Southeast Regional Counsel for Allstate Insurance Company, and is married to Maria Golick, a Cobb County State Court Judge. They have two sons: Marshall, 9, and Davis, 7.
