Sean is a life-long Cherokee County resident and currently resides in Holly Springs with his wife Kate and their two children, Claire and Eli. He attended Kennesaw State University where he received both his Bachelors and Masters Degrees. While at Kennesaw State he was elected to and served as the Vice President of Student Government and as the Academic Affairs Chair for the Student Advisory Committee to the Board of Reagents.

In 2001, Sean was elected to the Holly Springs City Council where he served the city for three years. During his tenure, he was elected by his council peers to serve as the Mayor Pro-Tem and represent the city on transportation matters. In 2003, when the mayor stepped aside, Sean served the city as the acting Mayor. During this time, the city accomplished many milestones. These included increased inclusion for roads and transportation under the State LARP program, several State DOT special initiative projects, and selection by the Atlanta Regional Commission for the Livable Centers Initiative Program (the smallest city to be selected).

Currently, Sean represents South East and Central Cherokee County including the Cities of Canton, Woodstock, and Holly Springs. He is a graduate of the Coverdell Leadership Institute, the Regional Leadership Institute, and has been a delegate to the Georgia Republican Convention. As a Representative in the State House, Sean’s leadership experience and dedication on key issues enabled him to receive appointments to House Committees such as Game, Fish and Parksp; Health and Human Services; Legislative and Congressional Reapportionment, Special Committee on Small Business Development and Job Creation, and Secretary of State Institutions and Property as well as Vice Chairman of Regulated Industries. Representative Jerguson also conferred on crucial second amendment legislation, one of only three House members to do so.

Finally, Sean’s dedication and service to the community includes past volunteer positions with the American Red Cross, MUST Ministries, PUSH America, and the HOPE Center.
