State Representative Tom Knox represents the 24th District of the Georgia House of Representatives. Representative Knox began his political career at age nine campaigning for Dwight Eisenhower for President. He was first elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 2000.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, he was educated at St. Louis Preparatory Seminary and attended St. Louis University and Cardinal Glenna College majoring in philosophy and education. He also attended St. Louis University and Woodrow Wilson College School of Law. He earned his JD in 1974 and was admitted to the practice of law in 1975. He is a practicing attorney in Cumming, Georgia.

Representative Knox is married to Michele Knox, his best friend and soul-mate. They attend Good Shepherd and St. Brendan churches in Forsyth County. He and Michele live on Lake Lanier and enjoy boating and water sports. They also enjoy snow skiing, reading, spending time with friends, and spending time with their “kids” Salty, Lilly, Rusty, and Mr. Speaker.

Representative Knox is a member and founder of the Forsyth County Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys. He is also a member of the Lake Lanier Association, Georgia Right to Life, Georgia Republican Party, National Rifle Association, Georgia Riverkeepers, Catalina 22 Sailing Association, Atlanta Power and Sail Association, Mentor Me Association, Williams Shores Home Owners Association, Georgia Bar Association, and Forsyth County Humane Society.

Representative Knox currently serves as Chairman of the House Insurance Committee and serves on the Non-Civil Judiciary, Appropriations, and Industrial Relations Committees.
