Representative Billy Maddox

Secretary Information and Audits
Secretary Public Safety and Homeland Security
HD 127 (R - Zebulon)
Billy Maddox’s roots and values run deep in Middle Georgia. An Upson County native, he learned his conservative values of hard work and responsibility from a young age.
In Billy’s family, everyone worked; he saw the value and rewards that effort brings. As one of the first in his family to attend college at Gordon College and the University of Georgia, Billy continued to work to help pay his own way. He did the same as he finished law school, at John Marshall Law School.
With his law studies complete, Billy now meets the needs of Pike, Lamar and Upson Counties at the Maddox & Harding firm he founded in Zebulon. Being a small businessman Billy understands the need to keep taxes down and keep the government out of the way of employers.
Billy was asked by many people in his tri county area to enter the special election to replace the former member representing his area, Representative Mack Crawford. Billy was elected to the State House in a special runoff on December 6, 2007 and was sworn in the same month.
Family and faith are the cornerstones of Billy’s conservative values.
Billy and his wife, the former Meredith Moody, live in Zebulon with their 7-year-old son, Jake. Billy has helped coach Jake’s Pike County baseball team for the past 5 years. This year Jake made the All Star Team which went to State.
Billy is also a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church where his father-in-law, Reverend Ted Moody is the pastor, he serves as an officer with the Sertoma Club of Pike and is a member of the Christian Sportsmen of America.
