
Representative Martin Scott

Representative Martin Scott was first elected to the House in 2004. Martin represents Georgia’s 2nd House District, which includes all of Dade County and northern, western, and southern Walker County. Martin sits on five committees in the House: Banking, Energy, Intergovernmental Coordination, Ways & Means and Game, Fish and Parks. Additionally, he serves as co-Chair of the Sales Tax Subcommittee of Ways & Means and as Chairman for the Taxpayer Protection Caucus (an affiliate of the Americans for Tax Reform) for the House of Representatives.
Martin was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and grew up in Northwest Georgia. He worked to pay his own way through college, graduating from Chattanooga State and Shorter College with undergraduate degrees in business. He later earned an MBA from Kennesaw State University, and he is presently pursuing a masters degree at Reformed Theological Seminary in Atlanta. At home, Martin and Jane have begun ministry work as part of a local church planting team.
Martin is the primary sponsor of the proposed Human Life Amendment to the Georgia Constitution. He is a former board member of Georgia Right to Life, a defender of Constitutional liberty, and a member of the NRA.
Martin and his wife Jane have four daughters – Katherine, Elizabeth, Emily, and Mary – and they live in Rossville, Georgia.
