Brown of the 26th and Hudgens of the 47th offered the following
amendment:
Amend
the Senate Insurance and Labor Committee substitute to HB 1268 (LC 37 1085S) by
deleting lines 1 and 2 and inserting in lieu thereof the
following:
To amend Title 33 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to insurance, so as to revise the time periods

inserting after "plans;"
on line 4 the
following:
to provide for notice of on each premium statement the portion of such premium composed of state premium taxes;

All
foreign, alien, and domestic insurance companies doing business in this state
shall provide a notice on each premium statement or invoice sent to customers
advising that a portion of the premiums being charged is composed of state
premium taxes imposed by Code Section 33-8-4 and county or municipal premium
taxes imposed by Code Section 33-8-8.1 or 33-8-8.2, as the case may be. Such
notice shall further advise that the maximum rate of taxation is 4.75 percent
for property and casualty insurance coverages and 4.25 percent for life,
accident, and health insurance
coverages."
SECTION
3.
This
Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its
becoming law without such approval.
