BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Code Section 49-5-41 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to persons and agencies permitted access to records concerning reports of child
abuse, so as to authorize solicitors-general and assistant solicitors-general to
have access to such reports for official purposes; to provide an effective date;
to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Code
Section 49-5-41 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to persons
and agencies permitted access to records concerning reports of child abuse, is
amended by revising paragraph (4) of subsection (a) as follows:
"(4)
A
The
district attorney of any judicial circuit in this
state, a
solicitor-general, or any assistant
district attorney
or assistant
solicitor-general who may seek such access
in connection with official duty;"
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its
becoming law without such approval.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
