A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT


To amend an Act creating the State Court of Henry County, approved March 27, 1998 (Ga. L. 1998, p. 3954), as amended, so as to provide that the solicitor-general of such court and his or her investigators shall have arrest powers and law enforcement authority; to provide for conditions; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
An Act creating the State Court of Henry County, approved March 27, 1998 (Ga. L. 1998, p. 3954), as amended, is amended by adding a new subsection to Section 12 to read as follows:
"(d) The solicitor-general and any investigators of such office designated by the solicitor-general, if certified as peace officers by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council as provided in O.C.G.A. Chapter 8 of Title 35, shall have the same power to make arrests, execute and return criminal warrants and processes, and have all powers of a law enforcement officer of this state. Such duties shall include the preservation of public order, the protection of life and property, and the prevention, detection, and investigation of crime."

SECTION 2.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
