BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Code Section 20-2-315 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to the prohibition against gender discrimination, so as to revise requirements
relating to annual gender equity reporting; to provide for related matters; to
provide for an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other
purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Code
Section 20-2-315 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the
prohibition against gender discrimination, is amended by revising subsection (j)
as follows:
"(j)
No later
than October 1, 2003, and every year thereafter,
the

Department of Education shall
submit
a
publish an
annual report
to the
General Assembly regarding the compliance
of local school systems
with the
requirements of this Code section. Such report
shall
to
include information regarding expenditures and participation rates for each
gender and such other information as the state board and department deem
relevant.
Each report
shall cover the time period beginning on July 1 of the previous year and ending
on June 30 of the year in which the report is due. The initial report due on
October 1, 2003, shall cover the time periods of July 1, 2000, through June 30,
2001; July 1, 2001, through June 30, 2002; and July 1, 2002, through June 30,
2003."
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its
becoming law without such approval.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
