BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Code Section 19-6-5 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to
factors in determining amount of alimony, so as to provide that the finder of
fact shall not consider certain events when determining the amount of alimony;
to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other
purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Code
Section 19-6-5 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to factors in
determining amount of alimony, is amended by revising paragraph (8) of
subsection (a) as follows:
"(8)
Such other relevant factors as the court deems equitable and
proper;
provided, however, that previous marriages or relationships shall not be
considered."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
