the Senate Special Judiciary Committee substitute to SB 308 (LC 29 4230S) by
inserting after the semicolon on line 14 the
following:
to amend Code Section 20-4-11 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the powers of the State Board of Technical and Adult Education, so as to provide the board with the power to regulate the carrying of weapons on board property;
to amend Code Section 20-4-11 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the powers of the State Board of Technical and Adult Education, so as to provide the board with the power to regulate the carrying of weapons on board property;

Code
Section 20-4-11 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the
powers of the State Board of Technical and Adult Education, is amended by
striking "and" at the end of paragraph (10), by striking the period and
inserting "; and" at the end of paragraph (11), and by adding a new paragraph to
read as follows:
"(12)
To make rules and regulations with regard to carrying a weapon or long gun, as
such terms are defined in Code Section 16-11-125.1, on or in state board
property; provided, however, that any rule or regulation adopted by the state
board shall not apply to any area that is not owned or leased by the state board
or any area governed by Code Section
16-11-135."
