A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT


To amend Code Section 16-7-43 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to littering public or private property or waters and enforcing personnel, so as to provide that any person who distributes unsolicited printed material to yards, driveways, walkways, or porches shall retrieve any such materials not picked up; to provide for a penalty, to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
Code Section 16-7-43 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to littering public or private property or waters and enforcing personnel, is amended by adding a new subsection to read as follows:
"(h) Any person who distributes or causes to be distributed any unsolicited newspaper, handbill, or other printed material by placing copies in more than 50 yards, driveways, walkways, or porches shall, within four days from the date of such distribution, retrieve any such printed material not picked up. Failure to do so shall constitute a separate misdemeanor for each item of printed material."

SECTION 2.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
